PREPARATION For interior use, the preparation of the walls must be made in accordance with the building codes for the preparation of walls for painting. Minor defects and scratches are allowed. We draw your attention to the fact that the pronounced curvature of the walls and frequent deep defects will have a significant impact on the consumption of decorative material in a big way.
DECOR Material TRAVERTINO IMPERIUM should be applied in 2 layers. Interlaminar drying time 4-8 hours. The first layer should be applied smoothly, covering the entire surface. The second layer should be applied by the same method as the first, maintaining the layer thickness, which depends on the desired depth of the shells. In other words, the more pronounced the texture you would like to reproduce, the thicker the layer should be applied, but not more than 3 mm. Immediately after applying the material (while it is wet), smooth the surface with the working surface of the trowel, creating directional furrows. Note that the grooves have a depth equal to the thickness of the layer. Now leave the wall to dry for 20-30 minutes, so that excess moisture would evaporate and the material grabbed slightly (gained viscosity). Using a classic Venetian trowel with rounded corners, smooth the surface, directed movements along the created testuri. Please note that when smoothing, the amount and depth of texture depend on the degree of pressure on the tool. Therefore, we recommend attentively to this process.
Drying time is 24 hours.
To give the decor an additional effect, we recommend applying a decor glaze with the help of a co-coated semi-curing compound - VELATURA or CERATO, which in this case will serve as a water-repellent protective coating. Before applying the material is best diluted with water at 20-30%. Apply the material with a sponge. Drying time: 4-6 hours. Full drying time of decorative coating: 24 hours. In order to achieve the play of shades and get closer to the real effect of natural stone, we recommend introducing an additional finishing coat, pre-chalked up, into the required color - VELATURA (matte) or CERATO (glossy), which will serve as an additional protective varnish from dirt and water.
